[ubuntu] Confused on how to apply a kernel patch to enable the Intel precise touch (IPTS)

 
I am trying to make the touchscreen on my surface book 2 function and am unsure how to apply the patches from the github repository https://github.com/linux-surface/intel-precise-touch to the surface-linux kernel
