Laptop Touchpad Stopped working after upgrade

I recently upgraded my Ubuntu laptop. After upgrade my laptop touchpad has stopped working. My laptop is lenovo G510.
But, when I manually go to “Advanced options” while booting and select kernel version-4.15.0-121-generic instead of the default 5.4.0-51-generic, the touchpad starts working.

Is there a way to resolve this issue so that I don’t need to do it everytime
