Backup for those times you get the "Emergency Screen"

I have been using Clonezilla to make backups of my hard drive. On rare occasions I get those Emergency Screens(ES) on bootup. And there are times when after following the instructions on the screen etc., nothing will restore my computer other than restoring a clone. I installed Systemback. But will it work if I get another ES? Seems like it would need to be on a pendrive or CD also? Thanks.
