[all variants] how do you make sure links are virus free before sending it?

I’ve experienced this a few months ago, I found an image on Google Images, I send it to my friend via chat and according to my friend, the moment he clicked it, his VA detected a virus from the link and stopped it. He wasn’t pissed at me because he knew I’d never deliberately send infected links to him on purpose.

Now, I’m very embarrassed about it. Is there a way to avoid this in the future? Thanks.
